Midsund skule was founded in 1969.  There are 165 pupils, 17 teachers and 5 teaching assistants, as well as the Head Master and the Deputy Head. The municipality of Midsund is a small community with just over 2000 inhabitants.  It is a municipality of islands and we need ferry to get to the main land.

Even though we are a small community, we have many migrants from other countries. There are over 20 countries represented in the area.  Some are refugees, but most are work migrants.  This makes it important that we as a school learn about other cultures, and tolerance for what is different in the various cultures.

As a school, there is a large focus on anti-bullying, tolerance and acceptance.  Therefore, it would be a great opportunity for our school to take part in an Erasmus + project, to learn more about differences and similarities between young people from different countries and cultures.

We are also a school wanting to develop new strategies to promote further and better learning.  One focus area we have worked on for a few years is Assessment for learning. This academic year we started a new focus area, Numeracy into every subject.  This is a focus area our proposed partners are also interested in developing further education.
